First, one Polar Bear arrives in the UK, travelling to Edinburgh, then later to the Scottish Highlands, later another. A toy boy, perhaps a toy bear, following on from Mercedes the Polar Bear arrival is Walker the Polar Bear.

Arriving in the dead of night, Walker was dropped off at the Highland Wildlife Park Kincraig after all the other animals were dropped off at various points by a specialist animal transportation company. Walker was taken by ferry from the Netherlands via Hull, then transported by road North. It is understood the last drop-off of animal before arriving at the HWLP was at Blair Drummond Wildlife Park, near Stirling.

Walker, formally of Rhenen Zoo in the Netherlands, arrived to little more than a few interested visitors, nothing big, but this is something big, trebling the UK's polar bear population.

There are officially 3 Polar Bears in the UK, one is kept in a commercial zoo for performing animals, the other two are now in the Highland Wildlife Park near Kincraig, and close also to Aviemore.

Mercedes is now 30, Walker is 23 Months, a breeding program is planned for some time in the future, Walker will be the Male, an unknown and unchosen female bear will be the breeding partner.

Walker's mother is called Huggies, due to a new litter by Huggies, Walker had to depart.

Walker appears to be settling in well to his new home, and will be released into a larger enclosure in the coming days.
